$QCOM breakout... $QCOM just broke above a consolidation area it's been digesting for about 2 weeks. I started a 1/2 position at $82.05. My stop is going to be very tight at $79 since these types of breakouts are prone to failure. However, I like QCOM's story so I'm willing to take a chance here. This is a swing trade for me so I'll look to add on a push and 5% gain to a full position. After that I'll look to take 1/4 - 1/3 off at 10% gain, another at 20% and let the remainder run until there is a reason to sell. Ideas, not investing advice.
QCOM Breakout 6 testsQCOM has tested the 80-81 area 5-6 times already, it has been consolidating in a tight pattern with the Bollinger Bands becoming very narrow, which typically poses a coming breakout. A breakout above the 80 level would cause a run up to $85 range.
Purchasing QCOM calls in June.May's monthly candle closed above April's high.
If price returns to April's high, then I will begin purchasing call options at the 80.00 strike with a July 2 expiration.
