388.HK Stock option Short Put idea for Dec 2024Hello Trades, The Hang Seng Index experienced a single-day rebound in the days before and after the settlement, with significant increases in most constituent stocks. We are deploying a Hong Kong stock options strategy for next month. We will use the Hong Kong Stock Exchange as the center for our options strategy. We see that the stock price of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange is currently in a consolidation range on the weekly chart. The strike price is between $260 and $290.

You should not buy when RSI is above 70, agree?Now, let's use this stock , 388 as an example. From 2021 to Sept 2024, it has been on a downtrend for 3 over years......... If we rely solely on the RSI indicators which states that sell when it is over 70 or buy when it is 30 or below then , one would be in deep trouble. The simple trend line is more meaningful and accurate as one can see from the chart. Whenever price hit the resistance level, it continues to falter albeit at a slower pace (death of a thousand cuts). Now, we are in the same situation where the RSI is way above 70 (91) which technically is a screaming SELL. Don't mess with the bull run coz it can be fast and furious like this recent rally. It has not taken a breather , yet and I think more stimulus will continue to be rolled out to entice the people and businesses to spend more money. Just think about it, those smart people who invented or sell you the indicators promising to make you lots of money, why don't they hide in their garage and make the millions quietly instead of selling you over the internet ? If I ever found a method that guarantee money making, I would not announce to the world until I am a multi millionaire ,hahahaha

Positive Earnings for SEHK388 HKEXHKEX posted positive earnings today. Below are the financial highlights: YTD Q3 2020 revenue and other income was 12 per cent higher than YTD Q3 2019, a nine-month record high - - Core business revenue was up 21 per cent against YTD Q3 2019, reflecting higher trading and clearing fees driven by record headline ADT2 - Stock Connect revenue and other income reached a record high of $1,354 million, up 79 per cent against YTD Q3 2019 Source: HKEX Website As expected, news of a vaccine, coupled with tighter regulations on ATM (Alibaba, Tencent, & Meituan) has caused a rotation of funds out of the tech-sector as well as equities that are largely 'Covid proof'. However, I am positive that 388 will be able to make a run to breaking all time highs given its good performance. Technically, 388 looks range bound and is nearing the bottom of the range. Why pay more ?We can pay lesser for the stocks that we like by being patient. Looking at the price action, it is likely that it will falls a bit further to the 330 price level before we see a rebound. It does not mean that I will immediately buy at this level. Market is ever changing and it can falls further below 330 due to whatever circumstances. So when the price reaches 330, I will monitor and see if Mr Market offers me any bullish signal to go long,else I will wait or skip this stock. Learning to be impersonal to any stock that you own helps you to stay detached and offers clarity. The purpose of stock buying is to create and accumulate wealth, nothing more. With an abundant pool of stocks to choose from, one can afford to be selective and select only the best of the best, increasing one's odds of success in this game.

What do you do now if you are the buyer ?Time to put on your thinking cap! We must remember in the market, there are many kinds of players. Retail, institutional, government authorities, etc. Some wants to invest for the long term and would not mind the volatility and probably add more when price drop. Day or Swing trader would take advantage of this volatility and try to make some profits out of it. From chart, you can see each buy to the resistance line at 281.40 is met with a sell. So, without holding this stock for so called long term, you can still make money out of shorting it or buying and then selling once it reach the resistance level. The million dollar question is now it is coming back up again, will you sell or buy ? If sell, what's your explanation ? If you buy, how do you justify to yourself ? That's all it matters to all traders and their actions are then pitted against each other in the market.
